Upgrade help
By can you smell fish? 1 year agoHi,my pc isn't that great so when I play BF3 online I run at 1920x1080 with everything at the maximum ULTRA and I'm only getting getting 35-60fps (35 being heavy action) would you recommended upgrading any of these parts :
W7 64BIT, i5 2500k 3.70GHZ, 8GB corsair xms3 ram, ASUS GTX560TI 1GB, Mobo: GIGABYTE Z68AP-D3,
also I was thinking about adding 8GB of extra ram :/ would this help much?
I shouldn't think the extra RAM would help much, and getting 60 on ultra settings is pretty beefy anyway.
I'd say just sit tight.
Be happy! I have even weaker PC and I'm not complaining :P But if you really want more fps get Gtx 590 or 680.... Spend all the money u have!
It's debatable, BF3 is pretty processor and graphic heavy but getting 60odd fps on Ultra is pretty good, I don't think there's anything out there at the moment that will drastically change your rig, I'd say hold tight.

35-60 FPS? How is that bad? You don't need to upgrade anything.

I think the game is locked on 60fps cause my specs are: i7-2600k @ 3.40GHZ | 16GB DDR3 Ram | ATI Radeon 7950HD 3GB (OC edition)

In 9 cases out of 10 you can circumvent any fps limits the devs have thrown at the game.
I think I'll stick to the setup I have now,thanks for the advice chaps.
I have a 580, and getting 60 on ultra, with mid aa, is difficult. I'd stay where you are, wait for 7xx nvidia cards, can only get better. :p
